Abstract

New (triorganosilyl)alkynes and their derivatives having general formula R—C≡C—Z are provided along with methods for the preparation of (triorganosilyl)alkynes and their derivatives having the general formula R—C≡C—Z. The methods may include silylative coupling of terminal alkynes with halogenotriorganosilanes in the presence of an iridium catalyst and a tertiary amine.
