Abstract

The present invention relates to a vehicle impact sensor device adapted to detect an impact between a vehicle () and a person. The sensor device () comprises a tubular enclosure () which encloses a gas-filled space (). The tubular enclosure () has a first end () and a second end () and is arranged to extend along a bumper cover (), when mounted to a vehicle (). The sensor device () further comprises a pressure sensor () arranged to detect pressure characteristics in the the tubular enclosure (). The sensor device () also comprises a gas pulse device (') which is connected to the tubular enclosure (), the gas pulse device (′) being arranged to insert gas into, or withdraw gas from, the tubular enclosure ().
