Abstract
Disclosed is an ink cartridge () for an ink jet printer, which is detachably mounted to a cartridge mounting part () of the ink jet printer, a convex part () is provided in the cartridge mounting part (). The ink cartridge () includes an ink storage chamber (); an ink supply port (); a first detecting mechanism (); a movable member (); and a second detecting mechanism () that is linked with the movable member (), and the second detecting mechanism () can move up and down reciprocatively in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the ink cartridge () is mounted. Using this ink cartridge prevents the problem of inaccurate detection caused by using a lever to detect whether the ink cartridge has been mounted in place.
