Abstract

An apparatus for storing and dispensing a medication, including: a cartridge including a cavity for storing a first orally-administered or injectable medication for a patient; and a module, including a specially-programmed computer. The specially-programmed computer: attached to the cartridge, and arranged to: automatically generate or modify a medication regimen, including designation of a measure for the first orally-administered or injectable medication, for the patient by using information regarding a second medication, different from the first medication, prescribed for the patient, or real time physiological data for the patient; and transmit instructions to a medication device to extract the first orally-administered or injectable medication from the cartridge and non-intravenously dispense, into a container, an amount of the first orally-administered or injectable medication equal to the designated measure or the modified designated measure.
