Abstract
A method of monitoring data traffic across a gateway device connecting a first and a second networks includes comparing values obtained from data counters in the gateway device with defined amounts of data sent from the first to the second network or received from the second network in the first network. The method allows for detecting unauthorized or unwanted traffic as well as locating data loss in the first or second networks.
