Abstract
The invention relates to a headlight lens (B,C,D,E,F) for a vehicle headlight () comprising a light source (), in particular for a motor vehicle headlight, the headlight lens (B,C,D,E,F) comprising a lens body (B,C,D,E,F) composed of a transparent material which is moulded (blank-pressed) on both sides and which comprises an optically active surface (B,C,D,E,F), that is to face the light source () and an optically active surface (B,C,D,E,F) that faces away from the light source (), the optically active surface (B,C,D,E,F) that faces away from the light source () being convexly curved, the optically active surface (B,C,D,E,F) that is to face the light source () being curved, and the headlight lens (B,C,D,E,F) comprising a lens rim (B,C,D,E,F) externally on the optically active surface (B,C,D,E,F) that is to face the light source (), the volume of which lens rim (B,C,D,E,F) amounts to 1% to 8% of the volume of the headlight lens (B,C,D,E,F).
