Abstract

A photodiode () of a receiver () outputs a current signal having a value that corresponds to the optical power of a received optical signal. A transimpedance amplifier () amplifies the current signal output from the photodiode (), converts the current signal to a voltage signal, and further outputs the voltage signal that is converted from the current signal. A current detection circuit () generates a current having a value larger than that of the current signal output from the photodiode (). A feedback resistor () changes a gain of the transimpedance amplifier () based on magnitude of the current generated by the current detection circuit ().
