Abstract

A process is provided for chromatographically separating propionic acid from acrylic acid. By means of the inventive process, a reduced propionic acid content acrylic acid product is enabled having a propionic acid content comparable to acrylic acid products from the conventional two stage oxidation of propylene, but wherein the acrylic acid has been produced with a higher propionic acid content by alternative methods.
