Abstract

A light emitting element has a cathode, an anode, and a light emitting layer (light emitting section) which is provided between the cathode and the anode and emits light by a driving voltage being applied thereto, in which the light emitting section is configured to include a light emitting material, a host material which holds the light emitting material, and an assist dopant material, one of the host material and the assist dopant material is a material with a high electron transportation property, the other is a material with a high hole transportation property, and when a mobility of holes is μh and a motility of electrons is μe in the light emitting layer, a mobility ratio which is represented by μe/μh satisfies a relationship of formula (I) below.0.01≦μ≦100  (I)
