Abstract
This liquid crystal composition includes at least one compound represented by general formula (i), and at least one compound represented by general formula (ii) (in the formulae: R, R, and Reach independently represent a C1-8 alkyl group; one or at least two non-adjacent-CH— groups in these alkyl groups may each independently be substituted with —CH═CH—, —C≡C—, —O—, —CO—, —COO—, or —OCO—; the hydrogen in these alkyl groups may be substituted with fluorine or chlorine; X, X, X, X, X, and Xeach independently represent hydrogen or fluorine; and A, A, and Aeach independently represent a trans-1,4-cyclohexylene group, or a 1,4-phenylene group which may have the hydrogen therein substituted with fluorine or chlorine).
