Abstract
A method for generating coalesced notification data includes receiving first message data that is configured to be processed to display a first message. The method includes receiving second message data, which is configured to be processed to display a second message. The method further includes determining whether the first message data and the second message data are associated with a social group and merging the first message data and the second message data to generate coalesced notification data, which is processed to display a coalesced notification at the client device. The coalesced notification provides controls to display an interface that includes a first portion of the first message and a second portion of the second message in a unified list.
