Abstract

A method recovering one or more nonvolatile compounds from an exhaled aerosol collected on an electrostatic filter membrane () comprises eluting the nonvolatile compounds from the filter with a polar solvent and collecting the eluate. The method is useful for processing samples collected from a portable breath analysis device comprising a sampling filter membrane for analysis.
