Abstract
A centrifugal blood pump reliably prevents blood from entering between an impeller and a shaft member. Pumpincludes a pump chamber, a housingincluding a blood inletand a blood outlet, an impelleras a centrifugal force applying member rotatably encased in the pump chamberand applying a centrifugal force to the blood Q by the rotation of the impeller. A support mechanismsupports impellerrotatably with respect to the housing. The support mechanismincludes a rod-shaped shaft memberdisposed at the rotation center of the impeller. Shaft memberand the impellerare formed integrally with each other, as by insert molding.
