Abstract

An aqueous black ink composition that can form black recorded images having excellent light resistance and water resistance, in particular, being hardly discolored by light. The aqueous ink composition contains, as colorants, at least both a compound represented by Formula (1) or its salt or a mixture thereof and a colorant having a maximum absorption wavelength λmax in a range of 560 to 680 nm and having a phthalocyanine skeleton. In Formula (1), R, R, R, Rand Reach independently represent, for example, a hydrogen atom, a carboxy group, a sulfo group, or a nitro group; Rand Reach independently represent, for example, a hydrogen atom or a sulfo group; and n represents 0 or 1.
