Abstract
A rotary positive displacement pump for fluids, in particular for the lubrication oil of a motor vehicle engine (), has a displacement that can be regulated by the rotation of a stator ring () having an eccentric cavity () in which the rotor () of the pump () rotates. The stator ring () is located in an eccentric cavity () of an external ring (), which is configured as a multistage rotary piston for displacement regulation and is arranged to be directly driven by a fluid under pressure, in particular oil taken from a delivery side () of the pump or from a point of the lubrication circuit located downstream of the oil filter (). A method of regulating the displacement of the pump () and a lubrication system for the engine of a motor vehicle in which the pump () is used.
