Abstract

Light with a short pulse width is emitted using a simple structure. A light source, a differentiation circuit, and a switchare connected in series. When the switchis switched on, inrush current flows in a capacitorforming the differentiation circuit, and accordingly the light sourceis supplied with electric current and thereby emits light. When the capacitoris charged, electric current flows in a resistor, and voltage drops at the resistor. Then, the voltage applied to the light sourceis decreased, whereby the light sourcestops emitting light. The values of the resistorand the capacitorare adjusted so that the above phenomenon occurs.
