Abstract

A lock nut assembly' has a first componentprovided with a threaded axial through hole; and a second componentprovided with an axial hole. The first and second componentsare detachably coupled together and arranged so that both components are simultaneously engagable with a common tool to effect application of the assembly′ onto a threaded memberby operation of the tool to impart torque to the assembly′ in a first direction. The first componentinitially engages the threaded memberwith the second componentfollowing. The first componentprovides fastening to the threaded memberand is torqued as required.
