Abstract
In an electrochemical gas sensor (), a carrier substrate () has an underside () and a top side (), wherein an electrode structure () with an electrolyte layer () is arranged at the top side (), while a gas inlet for a measurement gas is formed at the underside (). A porous region () formed of a porous material is provided in the carrier substrate (), such that diffusion openings in the porous material connect the underside () to the top side () in a gas-permeable manner, and a connection () of a measurement electrode () is formed in a gas-tight surface region () at the top side () adjacent to the porous region () and the connection () is at least partly covered by the electrolyte layer ().
