Abstract
A liquid crystal compound having high stability to heat, light and so forth, a high clearing point, a low minimum temperature of a liquid crystal phase, small viscosity, suitable optical anisotropy, large dielectric anisotropy, a suitable elastic constant and excellent compatibility with other liquid crystal compounds, a liquid crystal composition containing the compound, and a liquid crystal display device including the composition. The compound is represented by formula (1-1): wherein, for example, Ris hydrogen, halogen or alkyl having 1 to 20 carbons; ring A, ring A, ring A, ring Aand ring Aare independently 1,4-cyclohexylene or 1,4-phenylene; Z, Z, Zand Zare independently a single bond, —(CH)—, —CH═CH— or —CF═CF—: and a, b, c and d are independently 0 or 1, and a sum of a, b, c and d is one or more.
