Abstract

A system and method are described that enable a headset and a communications device to improve their interoperability. The headset signals its identity to the communications device that in turns uses a communications network to locate additional data and/or updated data regarding the audio device and/or its interoperability with the communications device. The system and method may enable post-manufacturing enhancements for audio devices, such as headsets.
