Abstract
A liquid crystal display panel (A) according to an embodiment of the present invention is a liquid crystal display panel including: a first substrate () having a pixel electrode () formed thereon; a second substrate () opposing the first substrate (); and a liquid crystal layer () retained between the first substrate () and the second substrate (). The liquid crystal layer () edges near at least one of side faces of the liquid crystal display panel (A), and includes a black layer () in contact with the side face of the liquid crystal layer () along which the liquid crystal layer () edges near at least one of the side faces of the liquid crystal display panel (A).
