Abstract
A method of treating or preventinginfection in a subject, includes the step of orally administering to the subject a composition including a carbonaceous material that has a pore defined therein which has a radius of more than 0 nm but less than 2.5 nm; and from 0.001-15% by weight, based on weight of the carbonaceous material, of an active particle coated that is on the carbonaceous material and that is made of a material selected from the group consisting of silver, gold, aluminum, zinc, copper, and titanium dioxide.
