Abstract

Systems, methods, devices, and computer-readable media secure a couplerof an electric vehicle charging stationby locking the couplerto the electric vehicle charging stationor an electric vehicle. A locking mechanism is provided within the coupler. The locking mechanism may include an actuatorconfigured to move between a lock and unlock position. When the actuatoris in the lock position, the couplermay be locked to the charging stationor an electric vehicle. Whereas, when the actuatoris in the unlock position, the couplermay be removed from the charging stationor electric vehicle. Further, the charging stationmay include an identification devicefor determining when to lock or unlock the coupler
