Abstract
A host computer (), wherein the computer is equipped with a font availability determination unit () for determining whether or not the font and glyph image specified for characters to be printed are available in a printer () and an outline image transmission unit () for transmitting an outline image of the specified font to the printer () in cases in which it is determined that the font and the like are not available in the printer, and by transmitting the outline image to the printer () to print, it is possible to print using a character format which is infinitely close to the font specified by the host computer () even in cases in which the specified font and the like are not available in the printer ().
