Abstract
An apparatus () for forming sheet glass () includes a pair of rollers () arranged in opposing relation to form a nip gap (). At least one of the rollers () is translatable to adjust a width () of the nip gap (). A pair of spacer belts () passes in between the pair of rollers (). The spacer belts () are spaced apart along a length of the pair of rollers () and have a thickness to set the width () of the nip gap (). At least one actuator () is coupled to at least one of the rollers () and operable to adjust a width () of the nip gap () until the pair of spacer belts () is gripped by the pair of rollers () and the thickness of the pair of spacer belts () sets the width () of the nip gap ().
