Abstract

Disclosed are halogenated diethyltoluenediamines of formula wherein either Ris an amino group and Ris chlorine or bromine, or Ris an amino group and Ris chlorine or bromine, and isomeric mixtures thereof. The halogenated diethyltoluenediamines of formula I are useful as chain extenders for polyurethanes and hardeners for epoxy resins having a relatively long gel time.
