Abstract
A crop ramp () for an agricultural harvesting head () has a forward portion () that is generally planar and has a leading edge () that is configured to be fixed the rear of a reciprocating knife () and ahead of a leading edge () of a conveyor belt of the conveyor (); and a rear portion () that is generally planar and that is fixed to and extends rearward from the forward portion (), wherein the rear portion () is configured to extend over the leading edge () of an endless belt of the conveyor (), where the rear portion () has a lower surface () that is generally planar and is parallel to an upper surface of the endless belt of the conveyor () and has a trailing edge (), where at least one recess () extends into the lower surface (), where a first end of the recess is upstream of the second end of the recess () and wherein the first end of the recess is farther from the trailing edge () than the second end.
