Abstract
In multi-cylinder opposed engine constructions provision of lubricant for lubricating bearings, for cooling cylinders, and for cooling pistons includes pumping an inlet stream of lubricant through a gallery in the engine that is in fluid communication with bearing lubricant passages and cylinder coolant passages and providing lubricant from the inlet stream of lubricant into at least one piston coolant manifold in response to a first engine operating condition.
