Abstract

A telemetry system for use in a combustion turbine engine () comprising a sensor () in connection with a rotating component such as a turbine blade, and a telemetry transmitter circuit () affixed to the turbine blade and in electrical communication with the sensor () for routing electronic data signals from the sensor () to the telemetry transmitter circuit (). An induction power system is provided to power the telemetry transmitter circuit () and includes a plurality of primary induction coil assemblies () each including a primary planar winding () formed on a respective ceramic substrates (), which are mounted end to end on a static seal segment () of a stator (). The induction power system also includes a secondary induction coil assembly () comprising a secondary planar winding () formed on a ceramic substrate (), which is mounted to an end face of a turbine blade root ().
