Abstract
Online information is retrieved for a user. An original query submitted by the user is received which includes a plurality of query terms the user associates with particular online information the user is interested in. The original query is then analyzed using data from an online knowledge repository and a historical query log of a search engine to determine central concepts of the original query. A revised query results from this analysis which includes one or more of the central concepts. The revised query is then submitted to the search engine. Search results for the revised query are then provided to the user.
