Abstract

A touch panel system () includes: a touch panel () for outputting an output signal in accordance with a presence or absence of an indicator that is in contact with or close to a detection surface P; and an indicator position detection unit () for detecting a position of the indicator within the detection surface (P) based on the output signal outputted by the touch panel (). The indicator position detection unit () detects the position of the indicator within the detection surface (P) by use of a detection reference that is set for each predetermined position within the detection surface (P).
