Abstract
Disclosed are new classes of pyridyldiamide catalyst components useful in olefin polymerization, an example of which includes: wherein M is a hafnium or zirconium; Rand Rare selected from phenyl and substituted phenyl, wherein the substitutions are selected from Cto Chydrocarbyls, preferably Cto Chydrocarbyls, and can reside in any of the ortho, meta, para positions on the phenyl ring; Rand Rare selected independently from hydrogen and Cto Chydrocarbyls, preferably hydrogen; Ris a hydrocarbyl bridging group; R, R, and Rare independently selected from hydrogen, hydrocarbyls, and substituted hydrocarbyls; and R, R, R, and Rare independently selected from hydrogen, hydrocarbyls, and substituted hydrocarbyls; wherein Rand Rform an aromatic ring or Ris hydrogen and Ris selected from methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, butyl, sec-butyl, and tert-butyl, preferably methyl.
