Abstract

The present invention relates to engineeredtype IV pilin (tfp) genes, type IV pilin proteins which can serve as a diagnostic marker for identification of patients infected with, and vaccines comprising type IV pilin proteins, antigenic fragments and variants thereof for therapeutic interventions.
