Abstract

A reformerof the present invention is formed by stacking each other a reforming layerconfigured to reform a reforming fuel with a reforming catalyst, and a heating layerconfigured to heat the reforming layerthrough an exothermic reaction with a combustion catalyst. A gas mixture obtained by mixing a to-be-combusted gas with a combustion-assisting gas is supplied to a heating passagein the heating layer. The heating passageis separated into multiple separation passagestoby separation wallsparallel to a wall surface coated with the combustion catalyst. The multiple separation passagestorespectively eject the gas mixture to different positions of the combustion catalyst
