Abstract

A shift device capable of improving positioning accuracy of a center of pivot of a shift lever assembly is provided. The device includes a shift lever plate that is integrally provided with a supporting shaft and a supporting hole, and a shift lever assembly that is integrally provided with the other of the supporting shaft or the supporting hole. The shift lever assembly is supported by the shift lever plate so as to be capable of pivoting by insertion of the supporting shaft into the supporting hole from the axial direction, and operates a vehicle transmission. The shift device further includes a lever guide housing including a pressing tab that has both a pressing portion and a restricting portion engageable with the supporting shaft. When the supporting shaft is pressed by the pressing portion of the lever guide housing, the restricting portion of the pressing tab enters between the supporting shaft and the supporting member so as to restrict movement of the supporting shaft.
