Abstract

Methods for reducing leaf senescence in plants or portions of plants by treating them with methyl dihydrojasmonate are disclosed. The methyl dihydrojasmonate may be in the form of an aqueous foliar spray, which may also include additives such as wetting agents, adjuvants, emulsifiers, dispersants, spreaders, surfactants, anchorage, disintegrants, and plant nutrients.
