Abstract
A light guiding structure comprising a light guiding element () optically connected to a light source () and an optical element () coupled thereto, wherein the surface of the optical element () remote from the light guiding element () has the shape of a section () of a rotational ellipsoid, wherein a geometric cutting plane of the section () extends approximately at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the rotational ellipsoid.
