Abstract
A glow plug () has a housing () and a heater (). The housing () includes a thread portion (), a tool engagement portion (), a press contact portion () brought into press contact with a plug seat surface of an engine upon screwing the thread portion () into a mounting hole of the engine, a front body portion () located between the press contact portion () and the thread portion () and a rear body portion () located between the tool engagement portion () and the thread portion (). At least one of the front body portion () and the rear body portion () has a thickness smaller than or equal to a predetermined value and includes a plurality of reinforcing parts (A,A) provided intermittently in a circumferential direction of the housing () in the form of protrusions or recesses extending in the direction of an axis CL
