Abstract

A foot brace is configured to be worn beneath a patient's ankle while meeting therapeutic goals of the patient. The foot brace includes a supportive shell made to a model of a patient's foot and possessing a medial counter, a lateral counter and an Achilles groove, which are formed to place pressure on sides of a patient's foot to meet the therapeutic goals of the patient. The shell is attached to a lining, a portion of which is mechanically coupled to a midfoot instep closure. The midfoot instep closure can place pressure on the foot of a patient to meet the therapeutic goals of a patient. The shell is attached to a rearfoot extrinsic post. The heel post pressure on the heel of a patient to meet the therapeutic goals of a patient.
