Abstract
The objective of this invention is to develop a method to reclaim functional sites on a COsorbent that have reacted with an acid gas (other than CO) to form heat stable salts (HSS). HSS are a significant concern for dry sorbent based COcapture because over time the buildup of HSS will reduce the overall functionality of the COsorbent. A chemical treatment can remove the non-COacid gas and reclaim functional sites that can then be used for further COadsorption.
