Abstract

An image forming method includes an ink applying step of applying an ink composition containing a pigment, a compound represented by the following structural formula (1), a compound represented by the following structural formula (2) and water, onto a recording medium being conveyed at a conveyance speed of 80 m/min or higher: wherein l, m and n each represent an integer of 1 or more (l+m+n=3 to 15); AO represents ethyleneoxy or propyleneoxy; R represents a hydrocarbon group having 6 to 30 carbon atoms; PO represents propyleneoxy; EO represents ethyleneoxy; and p and q represent integers that satisfy the relations: 0≦p≦10 and 1≦q≦50.
