Abstract

The present invention relates to a communication apparatus, a communication method, and a communication system able to share content on the basis of metadata. A storage unitretains content. A registration processorgenerates metadata related to the content and registers the generated metadata in a database. An uploaderrequests another communication apparatus via a network for content retained by the other communication apparatus on the basis of metadata generated by the other communication apparatus. A downloadersupplies content retained by the storage unitvia the network to the other communication apparatus requesting on the basis of metadata generated by the registration processor. The present invention can be applied to a recording and playback apparatus able to record or play back content, for example.
