Abstract
A method for providing a mechanism by which different user interface effects may be performed for different classifications of gestures may include receiving an indication of a touch event at a touch screen display, determining a gesture classification and an implementation characteristic classification for the touch event, and enabling provision of substantively different user interface effects for respective different implementation characteristic classifications of the gesture classification. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.
