Abstract

The oil control ring () comprises a retaining ring () and a scraper () having a scraper fin (), wherein the scraper () is arranged in the retaining ring () in such a way that the scraper fin () is oriented towards the center () of the oil control ring () in order to scrape oil on a piston rod (). The scraper () comprises a plurality of scraper segments () which are arranged in succession in the circumferential direction () of the oil control ring (), and the retaining ring () has a groove () for accommodating the scraper segments () in a positive manner, and the retaining ring () has an abutment point (). The retaining ring () forms at least one plastic first end face () which is oriented towards the center () of the oil control ring (). The scraper () is made of a harder material than the plastic forming the first end face (), the scraping fin () of the scraper () has a contact point () oriented towards the center () and the scraper () and the retaining ring () are adapted to each other in such a way that both the at least one first end face () and the contact point () can lie against the piston rod ().
