Abstract

An installation method for an expansion anchor is carried out by repeatedly exerting rotary-percussive strikes onto the shank () of the expansion anchor () by an impact screwdriver. The repeat rate (N) of the rotary-percussive strikes is selected as a function of the tightening torque prescribed for expanding the expansion sleeve () of the expansion anchor (). The impact screwdriver stops generating rotary-percussive strikes when the detected mean rotational speed (d) of the shank falls below a threshold value (D).
