Abstract

The invention relates to a friction element (), comprising a main body () having a friction layer (), characterized in that the friction layer () has an arithmetic average roughness value Ra according to DIN EN ISO 4287 between 3 μm and 10 μm, a wave depth Wt according to DIN EN ISO 4287 of at least 30 μm and a mean groove width Rsm according to DIN EN ISO 4287 of at least 150 μm. Pores of the friction layer have a pore size which is selected from a range with a lower limit of 25 μm and an upper limit of 900 μm.
