Abstract

The present invention provides a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery with great high-rate discharge properties while being less susceptible to an extensive internal short circuit and likely to provide proper assembly. The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a separator () placed between a positive electrode and a negative electrode. Separator () comprises a porous resin layer (), and a porous heat-resistant layer () overlaid at least on a first face of resin layer (). Heat-resistant layer () comprises a filler consisting of an inorganic material, and a binder. Heat-resistant layer () has a porosity of 55% or higher. Heat-resistant layer () exhibits a 90° peel strength of 2.9 N/m to 15.1 N/m to the resin layer ().
