Abstract

A fuel system () for a motor vehicle internal combustion engine, having a fuel tank () with a fuel vapor venting path () containing an activated carbon filter (), in which a fresh air stream () blown or sucked in the direction of the tank venting valve () by an independent pump unit () arranged close to the activated carbon filter () can be made to flow through the activated carbon filter (), at least at the periphery thereof and, in that case, preferably at the fresh air side to regenerate said filter.
