Customers are enabled to obtain information printed on a receipt without greatly changing the configuration of devices such as POS registers that process product sales. A information management systemhas a printerthat prints a receipt based on transaction information related to a product sale; a receipt databasethat stores transaction information relationally to a unique ID; an member service serverthat registers unique IDsin the receipt database; an NFC readerthat reads the unique IDs; and a control unitthat determines if a unique IDis registered in the receipt database, prints transaction information and access information for accessing the member registration serverif the unique IDis not registered, and sends the unique IDand the transaction information to the member service serverif the unique IDis registered.
