Abstract

It is an object of the present invention to provide zinc oxide particles which have excellent ultraviolet blocking performance and also excellent dispersibility, and therefore can be suitably used as an ultraviolet blocking agent for cosmetics. Provided are zinc oxide particles having a primary particle diameter of less than 0.1 μm, an aspect ratio of less than 2.5 and an oil absorption/BET specific surface area of 1.5 ml/100 mor less.
